By Jeremy Jones

GENRE: Western
LOGLINE:

In the 1890’s, Buster, a loyal ranch hand and trick shooter, accidentally kills a would-be rustler, sparking a chain of reactions that end with him, a reluctant Outlaw.

SYNOPSIS:

During the 1880’s, the violent ways of the Old West had begun to simmer down, allowing for places like Springhall County to grow and heal. A promising ranch, Wallace Ranch, has grown to prominence in the County, becoming a bastion for people of all races and creeds to live and work peacefully. Now, a decade later, that peace and prosperity are about to be tested.

Buster Keyes, a jack of all trades with a knack for trick shooting, lives with his family and friends on Wallace Ranch in peace and quiet. He was orphaned at a young age, being cared for by an Ex-Outlaw turned Pacifist, who taught Buster to survive and sustain himself. He was raised alongside his adoptive younger sister, making up their strange, found family.

Buster’s life takes a turn for the violent when he’s assigned to herd the ranch’s cattle through a canyon that used to hide many outlaws and bandits. Everything goes smooth until an accident separates him from his fellow ranchers. This leads Buster into a confrontation with a young cattle rustler, Seth. Both come to blows, ending in Seth’s death at Buster’s hand.

He tries to return to his usual life but the death of Seth haunts Buster. And with this violent act, a chain reaction occurs that ultimately leads the U.S. Marshals to raid the Wallace Ranch, destroying Buster’s quiet life, signaling the last gasp of the Old West.
