When the Navy's troubled Littoral Combat Ship program is threatened with cancellation, a young analyst, must work with contractors and sailors to turn one of the ships around before it's decommissioned.
SYNOPSIS:
The screenplay follows Deedee, an awkward intelligence analyst at the State Department who gets promoted to program manager for a controversial new Navy combat ship program after her sister accidentally sends Admiral Bulldog an envelope filled with baby powder, causing an anthrax scare. Deedee meets with British intelligence contractor Dame Gregory to get help ensuring the new ships, which the Navy calls "Little Crappy Ships," avoid surprises during testing. On board one of the ships preparing for a live fire exercise, Deedee finds a demoralized crew and unfinished compartments, while the ship's contractors stay comfortably on shore. Deedee uses the captain's satellite phone to call her sister when she's surprised by Dame Gregory catching her in the captain's quarters.
