Undergrads at a local college, attend a Halloween party where people turn into their costumes and go on a murderous rampage.
SYNOPSIS:
CONCEPT: A blend of comedy and horror. Rooted in urban myth, ‘The Night Doctors” asks the question: Is it possible that one of America’s most well respected pharmaceutical companies might resort to ‘less than ethical’ behavior and give unsuspecting subjects a drug that would cause nightmarish changes to their bodies? (In case you’re still wondering, the answer is ‘Yes’.)
SYNOPSIS: The story opens on the blood-splattered sneakers of Kyle and Liz Kirsch as they walk to the local police station in their small college town. They inform the DESK SERGEANT they’d witnessed a massacre earlier in the evening. Naturally DETECTIVE LAUREN GIBSON is skeptical, but is obligated to take their statement.
In one of the precinct’s interrogation rooms Kyle and Liz tell their story. A mere 24 hours earlier the siblings had struck a bargain: in exchange for helping Kyle pursue the object of his affection, MARY ANNE LULA, at a big Halloween party – he would introduce Liz to his weed dealer, known only by the sobriquet ‘THE BIG MAN”. That afternoon, in a bizarre back room meeting with the aforementioned ‘Big Man’, he warns them that while they’re enjoying the Halloween festivities, they should beware of a group of unscrupulous scientists called THE NIGHT DOCTORS. The Night Doctors reportedly wander the streets of their quaint college town, running nightmarish experiments on unsuspecting young people. Kyle, Liz and the others dismiss the story as either an urban myth or the product of pot-induced paranoia.
That evening at the Halloween party, when Kyle is finally alone with Mary Anne, she explains that she and some of her friends had just taken part in a drug trial run by a company called Freedom Pharmaceuticals. Kyle’s first thought is that his would-be girlfriend might be a victim of ‘The Night Doctors”; before she can assuage his fears, she undergoes a terrible transformation.
An evening that was supposed to be about romance and relaxing after midterms, turns into a frightening fight for survival.
