Trapped inside their failing coastal pub during Ireland’s most destructive storm, a fractured couple and five estranged patrons are forced into a claustrophobic battle against the historic weather event and the buried resentments that threaten to tear them apart from the inside out.

SYNOPSIS:

ACT ONE

On the eve of Storm Éowyn, the most destructive weather event in Irish history, LIAM LYNCH (40) and his wife, CLARA CONROY (40), struggle to keep their failing Galway pub afloat while carrying the emotional scars of twenty-two childless years.

As worsening weather alerts sweep across Ireland, patrons gradually abandon Lynch's Pub in search of safety. A small group remains behind: lonely regular DECLAN DOHERTY, image-conscious AISLING MURPHY, unemployed factory worker SHAY O'SHAUGHNESSY, widowed MAEVE McMURRAY, and a silent American traveler named JOHN.

When the power fails, the boiler dies, and the storm intensifies beyond anything they have experienced, the group realizes they are trapped. Their efforts to secure the building reveal a more terrifying reality: the pub itself is failing. As the winds reach catastrophic force, the structure shifts violently and slides six feet downhill, leaving the entire building tilted and unstable.

Cut off from rescue, the seven survivors are forced to work together if they hope to survive until morning.

ACT TWO

As Storm Éowyn reaches its peak, the pub becomes increasingly hostile. The tilted floor causes supplies, furniture, and floodwater to migrate downhill while the roof, walls, and support beams continue to fail under relentless pressure.

Forced into ever-smaller areas of safety, the survivors gradually abandon the emotional defenses they brought into the storm. Liam confronts the guilt of his infertility and the damage it has caused his marriage. Clara admits the resentment she has carried for decades. Declan and Aisling begin seeing each other beyond first impressions. Shay reveals the shame of losing his job. Maeve finally admits that her reputation for strength has become a prison. Even John begins lowering his guard.

As the storm worsens, floodwater consumes their final shelter behind the bar, forcing the group to retreat once again to the highest point in the building beside the front door. There, surrounded by darkness, rising water, and the possibility of death, they cling to one another for warmth and comfort.

When Aisling reads the final lyrics of a song abandoned by the band earlier that evening, the words mirror the journeys of everyone present. Long-held guilt, resentment, loneliness, and fear begin to give way to honesty, forgiveness, and connection.

ACT THREE

Exhausted beyond endurance, the group eventually falls asleep together atop the small wooden platform near the front entrance—the last dry ground remaining in the pub.

John reveals his identity as John Cowan of The Doobie Brothers before opening the pub's front door. One by one, the survivors emerge into daylight and witness the devastation left behind by Storm Éowyn.

A radio broadcast confirms extraordinary news. Despite enduring the full force of the worst storm in Irish history, County Galway suffered zero fatalities due to widespread compliance with emergency warnings and evacuations.

Standing together in the sunlight, the seven survivors quietly absorb what they have endured. The pub has been destroyed, but the night has transformed them.
