BLACK WHISPER
By Daniel Doble

GENRE: Thriller / Suspense, Horror
LOGLINE:

A tightly controlled psychology professor who lectures on intrusive thoughts begins hearing a voice identical to her own that methodically sabotages her first real chance at love and family — forcing her to battle an ancient entity that has whispered humanity toward self-destruction since the beginning of time.

SYNOPSIS:

ACT ONE Dr. Claire Constantine is a brilliant but emotionally closed-off psychology professor who lectures graduate students that not every thought in their head belongs to them. When she unexpectedly connects with warm widower Mark and his perceptive daughter Maggie, Claire tentatively opens herself to love and family for the first time. But after she agrees to a date with Mark, a mysterious black-shrouded figure appears behind her and begins whispering in her exact voice — systematically sabotaging her new relationships.

ACT TWO As Claire’s relationship with Mark and Maggie deepens, the whispers grow more vicious and personal. Desperate for answers, she discovers a secret archive hidden in her backyard bungalow containing her late father’s private research. She realizes the voice is not a hallucination but an ancient entity — the “father of lies” — that has preyed on humanity for generations by making people believe its destructive thoughts are their own. When Claire tries to confront the entity with Mark and Maggie, the voice turns them against her, leaving Claire more isolated than ever.

ACT THREE With the help of her mother Charlotte and a cryptic priest, Claire understands that the one word her mother has said to her for thirty years — “Resist” — is the only weapon that can defeat the entity. In a final, harrowing confrontation inside the bungalow, Claire, Mark, Maggie, and Charlotte stand together and actively reject the voice that has controlled their lives. As the black-shrouded figures unravel and disappear, Claire finally breaks the generational cycle and chooses real human connection.
