GENRE: Drama
LOGLINE:

Inadvertently embedding a clandestine code in his latest novel, an unsuspecting middle-aged author spirals into a race against the clock to locate a hidden covert agent in Russia - the only hope to defuse a looming nuclear showdown.

SYNOPSIS:

Set in 1987 against a backdrop of Cold War tension, Book of the Month follows Bob, a lonely, middle-aged author grieving his late wife, who unknowingly stumbles into a deadly international conspiracy. After a recommendation from his publisher friend, Merrill, Bob’s book is chosen as the publisher's latest release. But what begins as a career breakthrough spirals into a nightmare: Bob learns that the manuscript contains a covert signal to a Russian operative, instructing them to detonate a hidden nuclear device in Moscow.

When Merrill’s junior editor Stephanie is murdered before she can alter the code, Bob realizes the full extent of the danger. With no one to trust, Bob assumes a new identity, traveling to the USSR alongside Sister Margaret, a determined nun on a mission of faith. In Moscow, his daring search for the operative leads him deep into the Kremlin, where he encounters the agent — and a shocking revelation. In a final twist, he is knocked unconscious, only to wake up in Merrill’s home, finding himself living out the life he once envied.

BOOK OF THE MONTH sounds thrilling and suspenseful! It's not a trained agent or someone who's racing against the clock to locate the hidden covert agent. It's a middle-aged author. Talk about an extremely difficult mission! And talk about stakes!
