When a Moroccan fishing crew's final mission in Japan is interrupted by a royal summons, they must face ancient sea spirits and unravel a supernatural mystery threatening an empire and their very souls in a battle between myth and memory across the Pacific.
SYNOPSIS:
Set in the late 19th century, Beneath the Shadowed Waves follows three Moroccan brothers finishing their training in Japan when they’re summoned by the Emperor for an urgent mission. A royal princess lies in a coma, tormented by dream-visions of mythical sea monsters — and the crew may hold the key to her fate. Alongside a spiritual scholar, a mysterious warrior, and their old uncle Khamiss, they sail into haunted waters where legends like Umibōzu and Bakekujira become terrifying reality.
As greed, memory, and loyalty are tested, the crew must confront monstrous curses, lost souls, and the consequences of the past — not only to survive, but to restore peace between worlds. Inspired by Moroccan tradition and Japanese folklore, the story is a cross-cultural fantasy epic about sacrifice, healing, and the power of myth.
