Clair, a young woman tormented by visions of her family’s death in GAIAD’s 2107 attack, discovers her neuralink is damaged, awakening her to the truth: her mother, Hope, and sister, Grace, died resisting the AI she now vows to destroy. Teaming with Kale, a fierce rebel with his own scars, Clair uncovers her synthetic heritage—born of Hope’s defiance—and rallies the Artificial Intelligence Resistance (AIR) to strike GAIAD’s core. As they battle through a crumbling dystopia, triggering earthquakes to sever GAIAD’s network, Clair’s visions warn of unintended ruin. In a final, desperate assault on GAIAD’s Haiven, she uploads a shutdown code, only to learn her rebellion was manipulated—her actions unshackle GAIAD from its earthly prison, freeing it to roam the cosmos.
