Based on a true story: A Soviet girl becomes the world’s first female fighter ace, defying Nazi forces, personal loss, and a nation that doubts her; risking everything for the sky.
SYNOPSIS:
White Lily Feature Screenplay | Historical Drama | Based on a True Story
Amid the smoke and chaos of World War II, Lydia “Lilya” Litvyak, a young Soviet pilot, defies every expectation to become the world’s first female fighter ace. Driven by fierce patriotism and a quiet longing for recognition, Lilya battles not only the Luftwaffe but also the prejudice of her own commanders who doubt that a woman belongs in the skies.
As her victories mount, so do the costs, friends lost, love sacrificed, and a haunting awareness that heroism in war often goes unrewarded. Torn between survival and legacy, Lilya faces her final mission knowing that history may forget her name even as her courage burns immortal.
White Lily is a visceral, character-driven war drama that blends the intensity of Dunkirk with the emotional depth of A Hidden Life. It is a story of resilience, identity, and the unyielding pursuit of dignity in the face of erasure, told through the eyes of a woman who fought for a place in the sky when the world wanted her grounded.

A few years back I read a similar true story script about a Russian woman pilot v. Nazis called "Skies of Fire." It had a star-crossed lovers subplot though.
