When 2 young lovers (Peace Corps Volunteers) in Chad are sent to different parts of the country, their affair ends. A civil war erupts, forcing them to adapt as different tribes battle to topple the government.
SYNOPSIS:
Young and full of ideals, Charlene DuGard, an inexperienced Peace Corps Volunteer with few skills, hopes to ease the lives of Chadians but worries about what prompted her to sign up to teach English for two years in Africa. What was she thinking? When she fails to connect with any of the other volunteers or with Chadians, she feels isolated as she struggles to communicate in French and tricky African languages. Her ex-lover, Madison Sorio, is assigned to a different part of the country. Civil war breaks out, and the American ambassador orders all Americans to evacuate. Charlene is baffled when Madison fails to show up. All Americans are gathering in Chad’s major cities to flee the country and he is a no-show. Where is he? Why isn’t he here for the departure?

Hi, Michael Varga. Your logline is better, but I think it needs a little more work. How about this: When two young Peace Corps Volunteers in a steamy affair are sent to different parts of Chad, a deadly civil war erupts, forcing them to adapt as different tribes battle to topple the government.

Maurice, thanks for the edit. Yes, I think yours is more succinct and sparking!
You're welcome, Michael Varga. And I just noticed something. I put "different" twice. Maybe change "different tribes" to "tribes."
