HOW THE WEST WAS REALLY WON
By John Guglielmi

GENRE: Western, Comedy
LOGLINE:

American legends hilariously battle the biggest threat to ever emerge from the Wild West.

SYNOPSIS:

During the 1800's the West provided an opportunity for Americans and immigrants to create a new life. Through adversity they were successful and settled the harsh land. However, the history books never recall the final threat the West faced... a mysterious mist excreted from a mine in California that turned people into zombies. The Governor at the time, Governator Ernie, reacted quickly and called on Wild Pecos Bill to assemble the greatest team America has never known. The team consisted of great American Legends and Heroes. They were banded together into three groups after each received a message delivered via Pony XXXpress. They travelled westward battling zombies... and each other. John Henry and Forrest Stump- the small person who threw down railroad spikes for John- were in conflict with each other and with The Major- a slave plantation owner turned Confederate Army hero who always had a mint julep in hand. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid were with them and it was apparent that they were both struggling with their orientation and for each other but just didn't know it.

The drama was no different for Wyatt Earp and the Outlaw Jesse James, who had constant bouts over Calamity Jane. Wyatt, who actually had the worst aim in the West, was a gentleman and represented the Law. James, a forefather of the Hell's Angles, bank robber, and sexual deviant, was not so much a gentleman. Calamity was neutral between the two while Doc Holliday rode his wheel chair thinking everyone was a jerk. Despite this, they battled the zombies and rendezvoused with The Governator who rode his state train, from the top of which, he fired his gatling gun. The third group was less conflicted by each other and more with their personal flaws. Davy Crockett had reoccurring flashbacks of his battle at the Alamo. But these occurred in the different settings- for example, door gunner in Vietnam. Paul Bunyan was actually devious and started a mutual love triangle between him, Babe the Big Blue Ox, and Davy's Grizzly bear. Charlie Roundeye, a Chinese rail road worker who could never be blown up, spoke fluent scholar grade English yet everyone interpreted it as stereotypical 'Chinese'. The Prospector, a drunk, old coot, spoke hillbilly gibberish that coined the name "Zombie" and provided the secret to defeating them- moonshine.

After blazing their own trails through outrageous zombie battling action, the three groups converged for a final assault. They believed the pandemic could only be stopped at the root. Preparation and immunization, in the form of getting drunk off moonshine, for the assault, occurred amongst hilarious antics and events. Despite the tomfoolery, the assault occurred in the form of driving the state train, full of explosives and moonshine, directly into the mine. All the historical figures used their specific skills to ensure the train reached its destructive destination. As a result of this effort, the pandemic was stopped and the West was saved.

Some lived and some died. Some have graced the history books as we know them now and some have not. However, you are now privileged to know what actually happened to them and the true story of 'How The West Was Really Won'.
