After paramilitary robbers murder her crew, a search-and-rescue leader grieving her sister’s death flees into an abandoned research facility where she uses survival skills to outlast a deadly whiteout storm and the killers.
SYNOPSIS:
Cassie Hayes, a seasoned search-and-rescue leader, is still reeling from the sudden death of her sister in a tragic avalanche. Emotionally shut down but eager for distraction, she volunteers to lead a rescue mission when a small aircraft crashes deep in the Arctic wilderness during a worsening whiteout storm.
Unknown to Cassie, the crash isn’t accidental. The plane carried six paramilitary bank robbers fleeing the scene of a violent heist. When Cassie and her team reach the wreckage, they’re ambushed. During the chaos, one of the robbers, Shaw, shoots Reed—one of Cassie’s teammates and close allies. Believing Reed is dead, Cassie is forced to flee alone into the storm as her remaining crew is gunned down.
Desperate to survive and outmaneuver the killers, Cassie finds refuge in a long-abandoned government research facility carved into the mountain. Trapped inside with the storm raging above and killers on her trail, Cassie uses her survival knowledge, instincts, and the facility’s systems to outwit her hunters one by one.
Meanwhile, Nate—Cassie’s pilot boyfriend—arrives at the search-and-rescue base alongside two FBI agents, Cruz and Beck, who have been tracking the stolen money. As the storm breaks, they begin a ground search and discover that Reed is alive, clinging to life near the wreckage. Calling for medevac, Nate pushes forward with Cruz and Beck to reach the facility, determined to find Cassie before it’s too late.
Inside the facility, Cassie engages in a brutal, tactical game of survival, using the failing systems, sealed corridors, and environmental hazards to pick off the robbers one by one. Despite her injuries and mounting exhaustion, she lures them into traps, exploits their infighting, and uses her knowledge of the terrain to stay one step ahead. But the gang’s leader, Larsen,a calculating ex-military strategist—realizes she’s watching them through the facility’s cameras and begins hunting her directly.
When Larsen captures Cassie, he tortures her to find out where she hid the stolen money, but Cassie outwits him by pretending to surrender. She escapes, leading him deeper into the containment wing of the facility. There, she traps Larsen inside a sealed lab and engages the depressurization system, cutting off his oxygen and leaving him to die next to the money he sacrificed everything for.
At the same time, Nate, Cruz, and Beck arrive at the mine entrance and fight their way through a pack of wolves guarding the dark tunnels. They reach the facility’s elevator just as Cassie releases the lockdown. When they finally find her—battered, bloodied, but alive—Cassie silently gestures back into the facility where the last of the robbers now lie.
As the storm clears and the morning sun cuts through the clouds, Cassie stands outside the mine entrance with Nate. He radios SAR Base to confirm her survival. Cheers erupt on the other end. Phil, the base commander, promises, “Tell her the whole damn mountain’s proud of her. Also Reed is doing well, and will make a full recovery.
As the storm fades and a rescue helicopter approaches in the distance, we leave Cassie standing strong in the snow—scarred but unbroken.
