STOP ZILLA
By Thomas Newman

GENRE: Mystery, Musical
LOGLINE:

In a city grappling with the scars of its dark history, recurring blackouts and unsettling visions expose deep-rooted societal wounds. As the community confronts the ghosts of its past, a young woman's search for truth becomes a catalyst for collective reckoning, forcing the city to face its buried traumas and redefine its future.

SYNOPSIS:

Kim, a late teen, returns to her hometown to find her missing father, only to be haunted by a ghostly Child. This spectral figure, an echo of a dark past, seeks to prevent a looming tragedy.

As Kim digs deeper, she is guided by The Child, but the cost of these revelations is steep. She must confront long-buried secrets and powerful figures determined to keep them hidden. Among them are a manipulative news anchor and a senior lawman, both unwilling to face the mistakes they've concealed for over 30 years.

The pilot climaxes with a chilling moment: On live TV at the year's biggest event, The Child leaps from a ledge, holding a sign that reads "STOP ZILLA." As his body hits the ground, the city’s power goes out, plunging the town into darkness and suspense.
