A mythological fox's struggle to survive high school, ends up taking an unexpected turn when one of his classmates falls for him, leading him on a journey to discover his powers and find his happiness.
SYNOPSIS:
Ostracized by his local peers and neighbors for his appearance, Sven Thames, a mythological fox with supernatural abilities has one goal after high school, to get the hell out of his hometown. After nearly losing one his ears, to local bully, and former friend, Jason Hicks, Sven attempts suicide, but is ultimately saved by his mother's intervention. She tries to encourage Sven to keep living, but with the murder of his father, (a fox like he was), still haunting him, Sven wishes he was better off dead, and leaves to go blow off steam. He meets up with his best friend Kiernan, and local neighbor Wade, shows off a few tricks, and reveals to them, his plans to leave for Tornado Alley; to live a life of excitement and isolation. Things take a turn for the worst, when Wade's mother, Karen, a radical Christian, verbally attacks Sven with her Book of Revelations propaganda, while his school principal bans Sven from his graduation ceremony, after he inadvertently, crashed his car. Sven and Kiernan, both furious, meet up with Selena, Kiernan's girlfriend, and Laura, Jason's sister, at the local diner, where the four, all eager to graduate, spoil themselves with food in an effort to cheer Sven up. All goes well, until Sven, knowing that he's being watched, storms out of the diner. Laura catches up with him, and the two slowly connect with each other over the death of Laura's father, and her own attempts at suicide. Their tender moment is interrupted by Jason's arrival, where he teases Sven before storming off for a meal. As Sven and Laura prepare to leave, Sven catches a glimpse of his father in the forest, which inadvertently awakens his dormant powers. The town's resident's see this, react in fear, and chase Sven through the forest. Laura, Kiernan, and Selena eventually catch up to him, and the four seek shelter in Laura's house where he reveals to them his true nature. As the group learns more about Sven's power, a mysterious geneticist storms in, kills Laura's mother, and injects Jason with a formula that gives him Sven's abilities along with his own unique 'foxlike' features. Despite the help of the FBI's Supernatural Division, the people responsible for the deaths of Sven and Laura's parents, Jason escapes, leaving their director, Meghan Connelly to initiate an alternative. She offers Sven the one thing he wants most, freedom, protection from the world, in the form of a identity. He and his pals agreed, but are still forced to attend to their graduation ceremony, as they have to be legal adults, for Meghan to grant them their safety. During the ceremony, Sven, with the help of Selena, faces his fears, and stands up for himself, wowing the entire audience. The moment doesn't last, however, as Karen attacks Sven, and kills Laura, just as Jason shows up. Months later, Sven and Jason, now, both determined to find their happiness, join the supernatural division to stop an oncoming war that threatens their kind and all supernatural creatures alike.

Unique story, @Joshua. Your new logline reads better than your original one in my opinion. I suggest changing "one of his fellow classmates" to "one of his classmates." I also suggest mentioning his dormant powers in the logline if you can find a place for it. Maybe somewhere on the end. I think "dormant powers" will catch the attention of producers/etc. more.

Hi, Joshua Goldman. Sorry, I just saw your comment. Where would "awakenings" be in the logline?
