After suffering an injury that robs him of his ability to communicate, Tarzan must use every bit of his jungle knowledge to survive while being hunted and caught by a vengeful poacher plotting revenge.

SYNOPSIS:

Tarzan makes a powerful enemy when he catches a German poacher, Heir Freytag and his side-kick Abbas turning them into the local cops.

Tarzan's childhood friend, now king of the Wiziri tribe returns from England feeling incapable of leading his people. He asks Tarzan to help him remember how to hunt which Tarzan agrees to do. All morning long Tarzan leaves some clues to give Themba tracking practice. By lunch, Tarzan gives him a much more difficult tracking challenge, not knowing the challenge would take a bizarre twist. Tarzan hears a gunshot and goes to investigate while flying through the jungle canopy. Themba reluctantly teams up with another friend of Tarzan's, a big bull gorilla to try to keep up with Tarzan.

Freytag and Abbas purchase a white powder potion to help destroy Tarzan which is poured over an unconscious Tarzan when he is shot out of the trees. Tarzan awakes, stunned, confused, unable to "read" any of the jungle sounds. The powder causes aphasia-like symptoms and destroys Tarzan's jungle skills, so he runs right into Freytag's trap. Trapped in a cage, he is defiantly loaded onto a boat headed down stream to the coast.

More passengers board and object to Freytag's treatment of the Tarzan and the other caged animals headed for the freak shows in America. Mary interacts with a non-verbal Tarzan and realizes he is NOT a wild man, so they escape off the boat. Tarzan tries to communicate with the animals and with Mary but is devastated with the struggle. Only Tarzan's inner strength is able to get them through the terrifying jungle challenges until Freytag catches up to them. A bullet from Freytag's rifle knocks Tarzan and Mary off a cliff into a waterfall pool below where she must save Tarzan's life. With the witch doctor's powder washed off, Tarzan's communication skills return only to realize he is blind from the bullet to his temple. Which is the worst skill to lose, communication or sight?

In the cave, Tarzan learns of Mary's studies of communication in England, and she learns that he is actually Lord Greystoke. A terrified, Mary must lead Tarzan through the cave to freedom, but they fall short when Freytag catches them. Only Themba and the gorilla, Bulgani arrive with a tribe of gorillas who dispose of Freytag and Abbas.

Mary returns to England and her studies, leaving Themba to provide for Tarzan for six weeks until Tarzan's vision finally returns. Upon that final skill and regaining his self-confidence, Tarzan releases a Tarzan call announcing to the jungle that indeed, Tarzan is back.
