By Thomas Ortiz

GENRE: Western, Horror
LOGLINE:

After a bloody heist, outlaw brothers flee into the remote Gila Wilderness with stolen gold. Pursued by former allies and a relentless sheriff, they discover something far deadlier is hunting them in the shadows—an ancient terror that turns their greed into a fight for survival.

SYNOPSIS:

In the wild heart of New Mexico’s Gila Wilderness, outlaw brothers Terry and Stacey Tooley, and two fellow desperados flee into the canyons after a high-stakes gold heist. Their plan is simple: ride through the rugged terrain and head for safer grounds in Mexico. But when Terry vanishes with the loot and leaves behind only a panicked horse and blood-soaked trail, the group fractures. Suspicion grows. Loyalties splinter. And a relentless pursuit begins.

Sheriff Bo Collins, once a Tooley ally, now a reluctant gun-for-hire, is sent to bring the brothers back—dead or alive—by the powerful man they robbed. But as Bo rides deeper into the unforgiving terrain, he realizes the real danger may not be the Tooleys at all.

Strange sounds echo from the cliffs. Whispered voices drift through the trees. Shadowy figures stalk in darkness. And one by one, men begin to disappear—dragged off by something ancient, silent, and inhuman that haunts the canyons under cover of night.

As survival becomes a fight against both man and myth, a determined Stacey is driven by his relentless search for his younger brother and an avaricious thirst for blood money, ignoring the horror that waits in the shadows of the Gila. A decision that proves fatal for everyone.

GILA is a brooding, character-driven Western turned survival nightmare—a tale of greed, guilt, and the monsters we carry, set against the vast and merciless backdrop of the American frontier.
