GENESIS OF ESCHATOLOGY: THE DRINIDY
By Jabulani Pongolani

GENRE: Fantasy
LOGLINE:

A resurrected atheist discovers he is the prophesied key to stopping the Devil's triplet sons. He leads a rebellion to save his abducted sister and prevent a global spiritual apocalypse.

SYNOPSIS:

In a fractured world teetering on the brink of spiritual collapse, ABADDON, a resurrected atheist theology student discovers he is the prophesied key in an ancient war between divine destiny and demonic usurpation. The Devil’s Triplet sons, REFICUL, THEEVILONE and NATAS – have been born to hijack the coming of The Appointed One to the five Earths to bring harmony, determined to rewrite the final chapter of humanity in their own image.

Abaddon’s life is shattered when his parents are brutally murdered and his twin sister (THILIL) is abducted by The Drinidy, the cult of the triplets, an order of dark beings preparing the world for the infernal coronation. Driven by grief, guilt and a deepening sense of purpose, Abaddon teams up with a weird ensemble comprising a mysterious prophetess (LAIRA), an envious fellow theology student (SAMOTH), a haunted killer demon (ZHAL’RAK), a grief-stricken writer demon (GOR’MAAR) and a fellow theology student (DURGA) who lionizes him, unraveling a prophecy encrypted across time, myth and bloodlines.

As alliances crumble and ancient forces rise, Abaddon must confront his own unbelief, embrace his fractured identity and face the terrifying truth he is not merely fighting the darkness – he was born from it. With time collapsing and the balance of worlds at stake, he must make the ultimate sacrifice to prevent the Devil’s lineage from ascending and sealing the fate of all creation, Thilil included.

Comps: Constantine meets The Matrix on a globally apocalyptic scale.

Gallons of thanks Marcos Fizzotti. Now here is my token of appreciation.

1.What are the rules of Dromundra?

Prophecy is law

Faith has literal power

Dualities define existence

The invisible shapes the visible

Blood and lineage matter

Free will is sacred but tested

Tears, memories and relics retain energy, for example, divine tears, which can transform

2.What’s the tone in Genesis of Eschatology?

Apocalyptic

Epic

Its high stakes

Mythic

It carries the weight of worlds ending and rebirthing

3.What are you, screenwriters, saying in this story?

Faith is neither inherently good nor evil.

It is powerful, dangerous and deeply personal.

Through Abaddon (the protagonist) Reficul (the villain) and Thilil (Abaddon’s twin sister) we’re expressing that.

Faith can liberate or enslave depending on how it’s wielded.

Salvation doesn’t always come from the divine – it can come from within.

Even those deemed villains or outcasts carry the potential for transformation

Prophecy, blood lines and legacy don’t define destiny – choice does.

The line between good and evil is blurred, often determined by pain, trauma or abandonment

We’re also critiquing dogma, spiritual manipulation and blind obedience while upholding the power of self-awareness, sacrifice and agency.

4.What big idea or question are you exploring?

What happens when faith meant to save becomes the very thing that corrupts?

Can destiny be rewritten by choice or is it fixed by higher forces?

What if heroes and villains are bound by the same divine origin?

Is redemption possible for those born of darkness?

What does it mean to be chosen … and what if the wrong person is chosen?

5.What inspired you to write Genesis of Eschatology: The Drinidy?

I (Jabulani Pongolani Nyathi) was inspired by the tension between faith and doubt --- how belief can shape destiny or destroy it.

I wanted to explore a world where spiritual warfare wasn’t symbolic but literal, where prophecy is comforting but dangerous.

Mythology, theology and apocalyptic storytelling collided in my mind, demanding a universe bold enough to contain them.

6.What made you need to write it?

I needed to write Genesis to confront the hidden architecture of belief, identity and legacy.

7.What are you expressing through this story?

We’re expressing the fragile power of belief --- how it can uplift or corrupt, heal or destroy. Genesis of Eschatology: The Drinidy is our way of exploring the cost of prophecy. The pain of purpose and the collision between destiny and free will.

We are expressing the idea that even divine power doesn’t escape consequence and that salvation may not come without ruin.

8.Why does this project matter to you?

The story reflects the battles we all face – internal wars of identity, loyalty and belief.

It matters because it doesn’t offer easy answers, only honest struggles.

Writing it was a spiritual act, a personal exorcism of questions I have long carried.

This story speaks to anyone who has ever doubted their place in the world or their purpose in it.

9.What makes our perspective unique?

We blend theology, fantasy, myth and science fiction with unapologetic emotional and philosophical depth.

Our perspective is unafraid to ask dangerous questions about God, truth, identity and destiny.

We don’t just tell stories about good and evil --- we dismantle walls between them.

Our voice comes from a place where reverence and innocent rebellion co-exist and that’s what makes it different, unique.
