When disgraced air force officer Jack Harmon and ex-rocker Pete McGrath pick up a hitchhiker on a trip across the barren wastelands of central Australia, they don't realise she is actually the US Ambassador's daughter, and find themselves caught between a promise to keep her secret and a national manhunt to find her before a US Presidential visit.
