After entering a ghost hunting competition for various shallow reasons, three teams of misguided misfits spend the weekend in the Hollywood Hills investigating the haunted estate of a sketchy heiress and her tiny butler to obtain a cash prize...that may or may not exist. (SCHITT'S CREEK meets THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE)

SYNOPSIS:

When ANDY, an elder millennial face model, "accidentally" gets his nose broken by his shamelessly lazy roommates, BRIAN and HILL, Andy discovers an online post that could be the solution to saving his career. In hopes of winning the cash prize to afford plastic surgery, Andy registers them as a team in a local ghost-hunting contest in a haunted estate over the weekend. Unprepared for the ridiculousness ahead, the dysfunctional roommates arrive at the Quackenbushen mansion, which is nothing more than an average two-story starter house in the Hollywood Hills.

Praying that this is a legit competition and not a trap set by the Craigslist killer, they're greeted at the door by KEVIN, "THE TINY LADY BUTLER," a failed comedian dressed in a catering tuxedo. Welcoming them to orientation, Kevin ushers the roommates inside, where they come face to face with their oddball competitors: THE GHOST HUNTIN' AND FISHIN' TEAM…consisting of overbearing man-child JEB MOREHEAD, his bashful brother-cousin JESSE, and their cunning momma FLORENCE; and THE NEWLYWED TEAM…consisting of JILL, a codependent tech administrator, and her narcissistic yoga-enthusiast wife LYNNE. Kevin formally introduces the teams to their eccentric hostess, DELORES QUACKENBUSHEN, who's made a decent living from claiming to be the first wife of the guy who indirectly knew the neighbor of the Amityville Horror House. After an awkward dinner, Delores delivers their objective: to get rid of the pesky ghost, retrieve a valuable piece of ancestral jewelry, and claim the reward. Finally, the competition begins, and everyone’s off to the races. May the best team win!

As the season's shenanigans continue, the teams encounter several red flags having nothing to do with the paranormal. Wondering if the estate is truly haunted or if they've been lured into a scam, they join forces and turn their investigation toward Delores…who has all kinds of skeletons hidden in her closet and even more under the stairs.
