After his bike is stolen, 10-year-old Jimmy Duncan meets Gus, a disgraced boxer who becomes his coach and father figure. When Jimmy witnesses his mother’s murder by his abusive father, he’s torn between love and rage. Adopted by Gus, Jimmy trains for eight years to become a champion, unaware that Gus, hiding a terminal illness, is pushing him toward a final dream: Olympic gold.

Punch Kid is a powerful coming-of-age drama centred on Jimmy Duncan, a ten-year-old boy living in the emotional wreckage of a home where love and violence collide.
