LOGLINE: Seduced by her hitman boyfriend into embezzling money, Eva Calloway fakes her own death and flees to the rural South. There, she uncovers dark family secrets of a legacy of crime.

SYNOPSIS:

Eva, a young woman living in Harlem, falls for the wrong man—a charming con artist and hitman. Under his influence, she’s drawn into a dangerous scheme to embezzle money from their ruthless organized crime boss. When the plan goes awry, and their lives are at risk, they fake Eva’s death. Forced to flee, Eva escapes to the rural South, seeking refuge with her paternal grandmother, Annie, and her younger brother, Andrew, who stayed behind when Eva was sent to be raised in the big city by her maternal great-aunt, Pearl. As Eva hides from the crime world, she uncovers dark family secrets, including her parents' own criminal ties that led to her mother’s murder and her father’s life sentence in prison. But just as she starts to piece together her family’s mysterious past, her old boss begins unraveling the truth about her survival and whereabouts, setting the stage for a dangerous confrontation that could expose everything.
