BEST SELLER
By Michael Weisenfeld

GENRE: Thriller / Suspense
LOGLINE:

When a writer and a thief's paths unexpectedly cross, it sets in motion a deadly game of cat and mouse which ultimately can only end
tragically. Is the price of life worth more than success?

SYNOPSIS:

A burgeoning author, riding high after his very first novel lands on the

New York Times best seller list, soon bends to the pressure of coming

up with a worthy follow up.

Chasing his dream of writing another successful book, Derek Richards

winds up going to dark places that soon endanger the fabric of his

existence. Each dark step he takes pushes him further down a dangerous

path.

Meanwhile, Steven, his agent, embroiled in his own nefarious dealings,

continually pushes Derek to complete a second book while following his

own twisted agenda.

When Evan Bronson, a career criminal, inserts himself into the lives of

this tight knit community, he creates tension as well as a bit of

hysteria. Unbeknownst to Steven and Derek, both men have a link to Evan,

yet neither one of them knows about the other's involvement.

Derek's wife Anne, his sister-in-law, Natalie, and Steven's wife, Rebecca are caught in a vortex they aren't prepared to face.

After a dinner party that brings these central characters together

creates even more fears and concerns, the decisions that are made create

an untenable situation.

In the final hours, the true cost of success becomes glaringly apparent

to both, Derek and his friends and family. Is there a way out of the

rabbit hole or is the dark path carved in stone?

BEST SELLER sounds interesting and thrilling, Michael Weisenfeld! I think "deadly game of cat and mouse which ultimately can only end in tragically" is vague. I suggest telling what they have to do and maybe what the tragic end is.

We had gotten feedback that our earlier logline needed to be adjusted. I will take that suggestion and add part of what we cut previously.
