By Loren Davis

GENRE: Western
LOGLINE:

When a mining company burns his home and murders his wife in retaliation for a legal victory, reformed outlaw Tom Burroughs breaks his vow of peace to hunt down those responsible—unable to shield his five-year-old daughter from the monster he becomes.

SYNOPSIS:

Unforgiven meets No Country For Old Men

Reformed outlaw Tom Burroughs has spent seven years building a peaceful life as a rancher with his wife Claire and daughter Alice. When Marcus Blackwood's mining company dams their water supply, Tom organizes the downstream ranchers and wins a legal victory. Blackwood retaliates by ordering Tom's ranch burned. Claire dies in the fire. Tom retrieves his gun and, with his old partners Will and Jack, hunts down everyone responsible—torturing information from hired killers, executing Blackwood's operations manager, and finally confronting Blackwood himself. But every killing pushes Alice further away, until the day Tom shoots Blackwood dead in front of her. Tom is hanged, but ensures Alice is placed with a good family—securing the future Claire died for, even as he destroys the man she loved.
