SYNOPSIS:
A Very Marinucci Christmas starts with Dominic Marinucci and Jenna Kavanaugh in the airport on December 22nd flying to Philadelphia from LA to spend Christmas with Dominic’s family. Dominic hates his family's broken Christmas and hasn’t been home in years, but he’s making an exception this year for his Christmas-loving girlfriend to whom he wants to propose. Jenna lives by the idea that “you marry the family,” so she insists on meeting Dominic’s family before they get engaged. Dominic tries to control the trip - limiting Jenna’s exposure to his family by getting them a hotel and not asking anyone from his family to pick them up from the airport. Jenna tags a photo of them on Facebook at the Philly airport, though, so when they miss the shuttle to their hotel, Dominic’s surly yet charming father, Rocco, swoops in to pick them up. Dominic falls asleep in the car on a tour of Philly Christmas lights and wakes up furious when they arrive at Rocco’s house. Dominic agrees to spend the night there ONLY if Rocco will give them a ride to their hotel in the morning.
In the kitchen on Christmas Eve Eve morning, Jenna, Dominic, and Rocco are getting along fine... Until Dominic’s high school girlfriend, Gianna, saunters into the kitchen in her robe and slippers followed by her 8-year-old daughter. Dominic tries to get out of Rocco's house without having to tell Jenna that his father is living with Dominic's high school sweetheart. That doesn't last long - while meeting Rita, Dominic's mother, Jenna figures out who Gianna is to him. Meanwhile, Rocco confesses to Dominic's brother, Michael, that he wants to get Dominic to move home and take over his business with Michael. After a competitive-verging-on-violent Marinucci Family Christmas Games that evening, Dominic and Jenna fight and he says they should leave on a flight out of Philly late on Christmas Eve. Christmas Eve morning, after a fight with Rocco, Dominic takes Jenna into the heart of the city and proposes at the Rocky sculpture. Unfortunately, he asks her to keep it a secret from his family when they get back to Rocco's. Christmas Eve night is the Feast of the Seven Fishes, and Rocco announces to everyone (without ever having talked to Dominic) that he is passing his business on to his sons in the new year. Dominic and Jenna have a nasty fight in Rocco's kitchen where even Rocco's precious marble island isn't safe from the destruction.
Jenna sneaks to the airport to see if she can still get on that flight to LA. Dominic and Rita have a heart-to-heart about love, marriage, and forgiveness. Dominic knows now that love is worth the risk. But where is the girl he loves and needs forgiveness from? In a panic to get to her before she flies away possibly forever, Dominic convinces his family to come to the airport to help him win Jenna's heart. Close on a wedding - surprise, it’s Rocco’s wedding to Gianna.
