Premise: Inspired by the nostalgic, free-wheeling vibe of American Graffiti, KICKER is a coming-of-age dramedy series set over one transformative summer in Andrews, Texas—a boomtown fueled by oil rigs, cattle ranches, and cowboy swagger. Wally Sawyers, a 17-year-old preppy kid from a sprawling Southern estate, is uprooted when his parents sell everything to chase oil dreams out West. Dumped at his rough-and-tumble grandparents' ranch with his pesky younger sister, Wally's world flips upside down. Enter his uncle Buck—barely 10 days older than him (thanks to some quirky family timing), a born-and-bred cowboy who's more like a rowdy twin brother than an uncle. Buck moves in to "show him the ropes," but mostly just drags him into trouble.
