HOT MESS

HOT MESS
By Mark Films

GENRE: Drama, Comedy
LOGLINE:

Mitchie Roberts—small-town Southern royalty, pretty as a pageant queen and sharp as a tack—has spent her whole life winnin’ at everything she touches… until she lands at an Ivy League school full of folks just like her, and for the first time ever, she ain’t the best—she’s just another hot mess tryin’ not to fall flat on her face.

SYNOPSIS:

Alright—so picture this:

You’ve got Mitchie Roberts.

She’s that girl. The one everybody either wants to be or can’t stand.

Small Southern town, big personality, drop-dead gorgeous—but more than that? She wins. Everything.

Cheer captain? Hers. Debate champion? Hers. Chess, tennis, academics—you name it, she dominates it.

She’s built her whole identity on being the best.

Now here’s the twist…

Underneath all that perfection?

She’s a mess.

Not cute messy—chaotic messy.

She trips into success. She talks her way outta disasters. She survives on charm, instinct, and pure force of will.

And then…

She gets into an Ivy League school.

And overnight?

She goes from being the big fish… To just another fish in an ocean full of sharks.

Because at this school? Everybody was the best somewhere.

Now her charm don’t hit the same. Her looks don’t carry the same weight. And her “I’ll just figure it out” attitude? Yeah… that starts fallin’ apart real fast.

So what we got is a fish-outta-water comedy-drama where this Southern overachiever—who’s never lost a day in her life—has to learn how to fail, how to rebuild herself, and how to figure out who she is when she ain’t winnin’ anymore.

It’s funny as hell—big, viral, messy moments. But it’s also real.

Because at its core?

This is about identity.

It’s about what happens when the thing you built your whole life on… disappears.

And the hook?

She don’t become perfect.

She becomes real.

And that? That’s way more powerful.

So yeah…

HOT MESS is bold, funny, emotional—and built for a generation that’s tired of pretendin’ they got it all together.

And Mitchie Roberts?

She’s about to be the most relatable disaster on television.

This sounds like a fun plot! I'd watch this,. I tend to watch a lot more movies throughout the winter when it's cold and I'm stuck inside.

60+ words is long. I suggest cutting it in half and increasing/detailing the threat.
