LAYLA'S WEDDING
By Mohamed Salah

GENRE: Mystery, Drama
LOGLINE: Twenty years after a famous Upper Egyptian wedding band broke up, its former lead singer reunites the group for her daughter’s henna night — only for the uninvited trumpet player to be found murdered the next day, forcing the band to confront a deadly secret from their past that now threatens the bride’s future.

SYNOPSIS:

Sondos Ibrahim was once the most celebrated folk singer in Upper Egypt. Twenty years ago, her band "The Pearl" collapsed overnight — and she never spoke about why. Now her daughter Layla is getting married, and Sondos has gathered the old band for the wedding night. One face she didn't invite shows up anyway: Abbas Ramzy, the trumpet player she hasn't seen since the day everything fell apart. The next morning, Abbas is found dead. Detective Yasser Adly begins pulling on threads — jealousy, old rivalries, buried secrets. Each band member tells a different story. None of them are lying. All of them are hiding something. What Yasser doesn't know yet is that the real story began long before Abbas was killed. And somewhere inside it is a name no one has spoken in twenty years.
