By Cynthia Garbutt

GENRE: Period Piece, Biopic / True Story

Saga of a well-to-do Native American-European family in Central America during the Banana Wars. Some are entwined, or trapped and others freed, as American dominance gives way to revolution, self-determination and Drug Wars.

From its introduction as a herb species from South East Asia to Central America, the banana has dominated the fruit export-import industry and fed the world, cocaine has fueled it.

SYNOPSIS:

Combining historical records and recollection of my family history in the agricultural and maritime industries, through US/UK-Latin American politics and domination of the fruit export-import business during the infamous Banana Wars from the 1800s. Which morphed into the largest agricultural import to the US and Europe and export of Latin America to the world - illicit drugs.
