When a German prisoner of war is murdered in a Wisconsin POW camp, his friend and fellow soldier must reluctantly team up with a Jewish counterintelligence officer, a Native American guard and a local farmer to take down the fascist hardliners who have quietly assumed control of the camp and are plotting a deadly act of sabotage.
SYNOPSIS:
Karl is a German prisoner-of-war, assigned
to a POW camp in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. He
is also a man of many secrets - in his past
and in his heart. As a closeted gay man, he
initially intends to live out the war in
obscurity. However, when Nazi hardliners
assassinate his best friend and would-be
lover, Karl fears for his life and escapes
into the countryside.
There, a Jewish counterintelligence officer
ensnares him and a Native American prison
guard into a plot that will turn Karl into
a mole and solve his friend’s murder.
By blowing up a fuel depot, the officer makes
Karl a hero among the hardliners, thereby
drawing him closer to them, and closer to the
hidden truth about the horrendous war crime
hidden in Karl’s past.
