ANA’S PLAYGROUND follows intersecting stories of human connection told through the eyes of children living in separate conflict regions, and how their lives are brought together through the efforts of a war journalist and a woman seeking to adopt a child.
SYNOPSIS:
Ana's Playground follows the intersecting stories of four children living in vastly different regions of conflict, and how their lives are brought together through the efforts of an embattled war journalist and a woman seeking to adopt a child. Similar in structure to films like CRASH and BABEL, the script unfolds in a multi-plot format and intersect to create one complete narrative.
Each story explores a child living in violence, then is connected through the journeys of three central characters on intersecting paths. These central protagonists include; an American woman on a quest into a war zone to find her adoptive child who has gone missing, Ana; A contentious British photo-journalist documenting child soldier indoctrination in Central Africa; and a supermodel philanthropist as she tours a child recovery center.
These entangled stories culminate in a final dramatic crescendo that explores how we are all connected to and affected by children living in violence, and how children share a resilient desire for connection and love.
This script was a finalist for Scriptapalooza and a grand prize winner for FADE IN Magazine on 2012.
