Ryu Tekotsuo, an emotionally numb man with the inability to feel pain opens a café after purchasing the building at a suspiciously low price, only for it to turn out to be a hotspot for magic phenomena.
SYNOPSIS:
The story begins with our protagonist waking up and heading downstairs to work, whereupon an enormous portal destroys a large portion of his cafe. As he attempts to clean up the mess, a girl appears in the room, and after some back and forth, it is revealed that she can teleport. The girl attempts to help with the cleanup, inadvertently making the mess worse, and leaving after doing so.
The following day as the protagonist attempts to remove a table that was imbedded in the wall by another portal, the girl returns to the shop with her mother who wants to strike a deal with the shop owner. The woman offers to have her daughter work off the damage she caused, as well as any future damage she may cause, in exchange for allowing her the opportunity to learn social etiquette. The protagonist somewhat reluctantly agrees, and invites her back for the opening day, saying he'll make his final decision about her by the end of the cafe's first week.
On opening day, the two serve their first customer, a mysterious old man in a bronze suit, who leaves behind a fancy gold trinket as payment before disappearing. Naturally, the protagonist attempts to return it, but after having no luck finding the old man, resolves to give it back when next he sees him. In a nearby alley, unknown enemies brew, plotting to remove the protagonist to seize the building for their own means. The alley assailant breaks a window in order to scare the shop owner away, which brings doubt to his mind after the police are unable to help. The episode ends with the shop owner regaining his determination after the trinket fixes the window as the old man from earlier looks on.
