A Nerd's obsession goes too far and becomes violent. 

SYNOPSIS:

THE NERD

Alex Poole is a brilliant young student but can also be described as a nerd, and has an unrequited love for his neighbor Sarah Danielson who to his dismay is dating Ethan Trent who he thinks is beneath her, he works at an electronics store in a mall that Sarah goes to when she looks for new movies and music, but also works in the clothing department. Often times Alex will go over there and interfere with her doing her job.

Over time Alex’s crush on Sarah goes into a fixation to an obsession, he crashes her dates with Ethan, barges into her home without knocking and unannounced, and flirts with her and calls her numerous pet names referring to her as his love (which boarders on stalking and harassment) when they were kids they went on one date as a way to repay him for helping her study and he embarrassed her and won’t let up, Alex not only enrolls in any class she is in and when they were kids he got a job at a teen diner because she got one there, and it was there she met Ethan who was hired to make music there. Alex secretly takes pictures of Sarah and films her without her knowledge, and doctrines pictures of her with Ethan with his image and even gives her jewelry with hidden cameras to watch her. Then during her birthday Ethan a musician writes her a song, Alex fakes an ad for a teen film and needs actresses and tricks them into flirting with Ethan including another aspiring musician Rita Connors, while it nearly works Rita inadvertently exposes it to Ethan who reveals the truth to her and Alex is found out, and Sarah banishes him from her life, and Alex must see the school guidance counselor.

Sarah’s parents like Alex, her mother liking him more than Ethan and tries to convince Sarah to appreciate having a friend like Alex, though she is unaware of what he does, as Alex’s own parents try to convince Sarah to date Alex, and convince Sarah to give him another chance. Alex is later fired from his job when the manager Martin Watson finds out he had been sneaking out while on the clock and overextending his breaks, to visit Sarah when she comes in or goes to work, giving Sarah a new phone for free, and messing with the security cameras (he had been copying images of Sarah on them), and interferes with her job. The school counselor Olive Olsen talks Alex into not talking to Sarah for a while, avoid her, and not be in her classes as it would help him overcome his obsession with her and Sarah might respect him more, he agrees and secretly spies on Sarah with his hidden surveillance cameras and learns Ethan and Sarah are having intimacy and finally snaps, posting the pictures around school getting Sarah and Ethan in trouble, her mother forbids her to see Ethan but Sarah disregards her orders, then when Alex is to see Olive he tells her must skip it due to avenging Sarah’s honor and makes it clear he intends to harm Ethan and as a result she calls the police and takes pictures of Martin’s family and sends them to him as a threat and further ends up the center of a police investigation.

Investigating Alex’s house, the cops discover his obsession with Sarah and the hidden cameras and show them to Sarah and her family, and her parents finally realize Alex is insane and the evidence of his intentions to harm Ethan.

Alex goes to Ethan’s with a gun and demands terrorizes Ethan’s family and misfires the gun several times (it soon turns more annoying danger then threatening danger), the police arrive and Alex is arrested and Ethan is cleared, and both the Danielson’s and Trent’s file restraining orders against Alex, the Danielson’s now having a sour opinion of Alex losing all respect for him.

Alex is released, and he gets a gun and goes after Sarah and Ethan and Ethen had just finished a concert and Sarah prepares to leave with him when Alex kidnaps them, tricking him into going into a connivance store Sarah gets a message they are being kidnaped and the store clerk tries to stop them but Alex misfires his gun several times and Ethan breaks out after being cuffed and Alex is shot, Sarah denounces Alex telling him they are not boyfriend girlfriend and never will be and now hates him. Ethan and Sarah go to the car to wait for police who come to arrest Alex sending him back to jail for a longer sentence thus separating him from Sarah forever.

Eventually Sarah and Ethan marry and have a son and later on a daughter, which is read by a man (Alex Poole) in jail crying over a broken dream, and hating Ethan for stealing Sarah from him, and preferring to live in his fantasy of being with Sarah then face reality even though Sarah was never his, and was meant to be with Ethan.
