A crime film where a young heir must reclaim his identity from a criminal while being chased by another criminal. Influenced by No Country for Old Men, Fargo, and The Talented Mr. Ripley. I hope to make it a Disney comedy film. 

SYNOPSIS:

THE GREAT CHASE

Will Carlson comes from a wealthy family and has decided to forgo into a sort of Holiday across country, his father Milton Carlson decides to limit his funds to make sure he comes home, one of Will comes across a bag full of money and turns it in and when it was identified as money belonging to former late politician Hampton Ambler a community pillar his living family rewards him and he uses it and is joined by Dalton Amblere. Meanwhile a crooked debt collector and Sal Fenwick sees it and calls on dangerous debt collector Argus Slate to steal it and murder Will.

Meanwhile the Carlson’s are tricked by con-artist and killer Maruice Barns into going after Will and convincing him to come home and finds Will with Dalton but also a girl named Nicole Bannitt who begins a relationship with him. Dalton learns something that happened with his family and leaves Will a majority of the money and finds out what happened with his family and returns to Will. Meanwhile Maruice starts to obsess over impersonating Will and tries to kill him when Nicole returns and sees him, and he tries to kill her faking their deaths Maruice steals Will’s identity and goes out on a bender.

Will and Nicole head to a police station to explain the situation, and Maruice is soon hunted by Argus who thinks he is Will due to identity theft thinking Will was responsible Maruice cons the police officers into thinking the real Will is a criminal had something to do with nearly getting killed and heads to a safe house. One officer Stan Willis becomes suspicious and checks with Will’s family. Maruice and Argus continue their cat and mouse game while Will and Nicole meets Dalton who reveals many members of his family are corrupt including Hampton and the money was gang money he was helping to launder when a gang war got them killed, and Argus who was there and accidently killed him.

When Argus finds Maruice, they find out everything, then they find Will and Nicole, but the police arrive as Stan had met Will’s family and identified him. Argus is killed and Maruice is arrested. Sal is arrested later and Dalton exposes his family’s corruption and vows to make things right. Will reconciles with his family and marries Nicole.
