During Halloween a ghost helps a young man fend off criminals. 

SYNOPSIS:

SPOOK HARD

The Daniels family turn the farmhouse next to their home into a haunted house, when their down on his luck son Tommy unleashes a ghost named Jack Kanning who haunts the farmhouse. Meanwhile a group of criminals led by Arno Dart sneak in and that night during the hours they take the place hostage with the intentions of stealing a cache of gold that was hidden on their land. Tommy sneaks away and runs into Jack and they make a deal, Jack will help him escape and Danny will help him crossover. Their plan works but when their situation escalates Jack convinces Tommy to let him possesses him so that they can fight back and escape, and they do. Tommy/Jack manage to fight back against the criminals and manage to kill some, and Tommy reveals to Jack that he had lived in his family’s shadow and is considered a screwup as he ends up failing badly, while Jack reveals he is a former Confederate Officer and slave owner and admits he is cursed and must do a good deed in order to get into Heaven. Tommy/Jack learn about Dart’s history and Jack remembers Dart is descendant of a former comrade and slave owner, but he was brutal with his slaves until a lynch mob led by slaves freed, and other white people executed him, and Jack did nothing to help him.

Dart and his remaining men find the gold and try to escape and take hostage Dolly Marsden a young woman Tommy had crushed on for years, chasing them and catching up Jack/Tommy get into a fight with Dart and Jack kills him by revealing himself and dragging him through a bunch of tress and heals Tommy saving him. In helping Tommy save the hostages redeems Jack who ascends to Heaven, while Tommy finally begins a relationship with Dolly.
