The legendary giant Paul Bunyan battles giant trolls. 

SYNOPSIS:

PAUL BUNYAN VS. THE TROLLS

A group of teens led by Zac Darry are sent into a rehabilitation exercise in a state forest in Minnesota, while there one of the guards who wants to see them back in prison sabotages what looks like a memorial shrine and then is killed by a giant troll, meanwhile in the mountains a giant awakens and travels to the woods.

Zac meets Dinah Dawson whose family is helping the program, but Zac is only in for fighting and reveals it was in self-defense. The giant and a huge ox finds some trolls and kills them while the trolls start hunting the youths to kill them, when the trolls find them and attack them and while some are killed the giant appears and kills most of them with a huge ax and saves them revealing himself to be Paul Bunyan and Babe the Big Blue Ox.

Paul reveals his history with the Trolls, some followed the immigrants from Norway to Minnesota and began their terror there, and some where giant and Paul Bunyan got to work killing them when they attacked the towns. When the Troll King arrived, a giant Paul led it up the mountains where he willingly allowed himself and Babe to be sealed with it and in defeat the trolls retreated into underground areas where humans sealed them away. The destruction of a shrine allowed one troll to escape and free the King making him strong again and freed the others, so Paul and Babe were freed to stop them, and they join forces. Zac and Paul do some bonding as he gives good advice to the youths on solving their issues, as Paul protects them from other trolls. The Troll King finally up to his full strength arrives to fight Paul in a rematch and the two battle the youths led by Zac lure the fight to a bridge where they use explosives and finish off the trolls, and when the Troll King seems to have an advantage the explosion diverts his attention long enough for Paul to finish him off.

Zac and Dinah begin a relationship as they go home, Paul and Babe return to the woodlands through Minnesota, Canada, and Alaska.
