A police officer and his family are stalked by a neighbor who hates police.

Scott Asher is a cop and married to Kate Asher and a child, then they gain a new neighbor in Gavin Banks, soon it becomes evident that Gavin does not like Scott due to him being a cop and secretly begins stalking his family to find evidence that Scott is a bad cop.

Gavin secretly begins a smear campaign against Scott and gains some support, Scott and Kate try to find out who it is and when they learn it’s Gavin they try to take legal action against him, but it would take time, and some of Gavin’s lawyers Nick Baker blocks them. Kate tries to talk to Gavin and tell him he is out of line and wants him to stop, but Gavin won’t back down and even groups her, telling Scott he arrives with his partner, and they tell him to leave their family alone. Gavin then files a phony lawsuit against Scott, and the news reaches a lawyer named Jerry Robins and he calls Nick and the Asher’s to a private meeting and tells them Gavin is unstable alongside Gavin’s sister Sharon they reveal Gavin had an obsessive crush on their next door neighbor but she would not go out with him, and she fell in love with a cop and Gavin began stalking her and when they became engaged Gavin up the stalking and even broke into their house to surprise and win her but was arrested for criminal trespassing and a restraining order was filed against him.

When they learn this, the Asher’s check out their house and find hidden cameras and that Gavin has been fully stalking them, and Gavin’s charges are dismissed due to not only stalking but also his unstable nature and a warrant is issued for his arrest. A search of Gavin’s house leads them to learn Gavin is a cop killer, as he has killed officers in a different county and to avoid capture Gavin fakes his death.

When Scott and Kate enjoy night with their child when Gavin breaks in to kill Scott and he takes Kate hostage, Scott plays on his broken mentality and his lost crush Kate gets away Scott and Gavin fight and Scott subdues him, but when Gavin grabs a knife to kill him Kate shoots him in self-defense. Gavin gone, the community apologizes to the Asher’s and cops, and Scott and Kate get on with their lives.
