A journalist ends up in witness protection but finds herself becoming an investigative journalist using two aliases to protect herself and her family.
SYNOPSIS:
MIND’S EYE
April Scott is a reporter for a local newspaper, and one day she witnesses a crime and exposes it and the leader of a syndicate and frees a man they had framed. That night when coming home her house blows up and much of her family is killed. The police link it to surviving members of the syndicate and April learns she will be put in witness protection. Given the new name of Sarah James and as she tries to gain a new line of work, she finds some strange actions, and then one day she asks for work in journalism and plans to write under the pen name of Cory Arnold.
Working as an investigative journalist, April now calling herself Sarah finds that a local politician John Herman is using phony civil suits to create an excuse to defund the police and embezzle money for himself and taking bribes from criminals.
When Herman’s criminal contact Flint DiAngelo finds out he sends his henchmen to find and eliminate her, but using her wits and intelligence escapes and soon publishes the story exposing Herman and puts him and DiAngelo behind bars. April decides to put her skills to use as an investigative journalist but must still use her new identity Sarah James but writes under the name Cory Arnold to divert attention. April finds new purpose and restored idealism.

This sounds like an awesome idea, I probably wouldn't use the word journalist twice in it? But that's just my own personal opinion.
