The legendary troll Gryla returns. 

SYNOPSIS:

GRYLA

A man’s farm is invaded by the ogre-like troll Gryla and her sons the Yule Sons but is soon trapped and imprisoned never to be released. Years later, the farmland is bought by David Baxter to renovate and restore, his wife Denise and daughter Kathy find the statue of Gryla and her sons and end up accidentally free them. Gryla sends her sons out to kidnap children but their desire to prank others gets in the way, Gryla begins stalking and attacking the Baxter’s and they find the Rider family who sold the farm after their grandfather Martin Olsen went to a senior home. James and Connie Rider know nothing of the pranks or mysterious happenings and their son Cade and Kathy visit Martin who reveals it is Gryla and tells them the story, writes a letter to Santa Claus, and burns it so Santa will come.

Gryla finds out what her sons have been up to and scolds them; they end up meeting Izzy Rider James sister who tells them they are pranksters not killers and if their mother just hurts them and treats them like soldiers then they shouldn’t be loyal to her.

Gryla confronts the Baxter’s and the Rider’s and begins tormenting them out of revenge for her imprisonment (though she reveals she understands her sons imprisonment even though they were just harmless pranksters and intends to make them monsters). The families escape and manage to distract her when Santa arrives and helps them, Gryla finds the Yule Sons pulling pranks and turns them into monsters to do her bidding, but Izzy and Santa manage to appeal to them, and they break free of Gryla’s power and renounce her.

The oldest of the Yule Sons reveals how to kill their mother, and James and Kathy find it while Santa and the Yule Sons battle Gryla, and David kills her. Santa thanks them and returns to his deliveries and employes the Yule Sons as honorary elves letting them pull a harmless prank to help naughty kids. Cade and Kathy begin to date.
