A sitcom about a group of suburban black teens who come up with get rich quick schemes to have a better life, or some kind of crazy antics and how they fall apart. Leading them to realize better ways to do it. 

SYNOPSIS:

DA HOOD

Denny Becker, Sadie Leslie, Benny Darvis, Nicky Nolan, Andrew “Dopey” Andley and Lena Morley are friends who live in a predominantly black suburban neighborhood and constantly come up with get rich quick schemes but runs into police officer Eric Preston who gets annoyed at their antics but knows they mean well, and local community figurehead and principal Lou Haney.

Denny comes up with a new scheme to make easy money, through a gambling venture and find a way to win easily through counting cards and the group make hundreds of dollars from a hidden illegal casino run by Ma Travis but when she gets suspicious, they agree to hold stereos for her only to find out from Lou they are stolen.

Realizing the law will catch on to them Denny and his friends secretly turn Ma Travis over to the Preston and Lou who lets them off with a week of detention and they have to return their money.

Denny and his friends receive a visit from one of Lou’s former friends Darnell Walston a community leader and civil activist. Later that week Denny and his friends are harassed by Eric for running a card game and playing for money. Darnell sees this and convinces them to sue Eric and the police for harassment and racial profiling.

The gang agrees but when Darnell tries to convince them to embellish their situations Sadie starts to have second thoughts and tries to talk sense into Denny who refuses to listen until he overhears Lou and Darnell arguing about the morality of what he is doing as Darnell believes his actions are protecting the community from police but is doing it amorally. Denny and the gang follow Eric home and find out his life is anything but glamorous and isn’t racist at all.

Realizing they will ruin good people’s life for greed and arrogance they admit the truth in court and expose Darnell who goes to jail. Eric thanks them and asks if they will start behaving themselves but Denny says baby steps and can’t promise anything.
