A martial artist gains a title shop and must defeat a racists gang.
SYNOPSIS:
AFRO JOE
Joesph Carter is a young martial artist nicknamed Afro Joe, one day he finds out his family is past due on bills and may lose their house. Meanwhile, raining karate champion Don Callison is looking for a new opponent and even an underdog, meanwhile one of the organizers Walter Mack sees Afro Joe defending himself from a group of thugs and observes him from afar and sees his potential and after speaking with Don, then speaks with Afro Joe and his trainer Nick Turley and seeing the momentary gain as a way to save his home and help his family agrees.
Joe begins his training with Nick as they prepare for the match, and along the way journalist Ronnie Boyd finds out about his financial status and trying to help his family. Meanwhile, the thugs who got beaten up by Joe are part of a racist group led by Cole Daggett who wants to eliminate Joe before his battle and begins stalking him and making death threats, but Joe refuses to back down and learns about Daggett’s past as a racists and criminal including murder charges he is facing.
On the night of the fight, Joe and Don are confronted by Daggett and his gang and they fight them off, and when Daggett pulls a gun on them, he is stopped and killed by police. Joe and Don come to terms and despite animosity from their past encounters come to friendlier terms.
In the fight it’s revealed that Joe and Don had gained some injuries during the encounter with Daggett but continue the fight showing good sportsmanship. The fight ends with Joe as the winner and saves his family’s home and a new face for Martial Arts in the black community and leaves as friends with Don.
