A man helps his kids investigate ghosts haunting the house of their new stepfather and investigates the possibility of him being a killer.

SYNOPSIS:

Divorced Lauren Davis is getting remarried to the younger wealthier John Dade a popular newcomer who had become pillar of the community for investing his own money in local areas, her kids Samantha “Sam,” Nick, and Megan aren’t happy about it and would like to spend more time with their father Jake Davis a struggling small business owner who connects with them. Laure Jake to spend time with the kids to accept him as a stepfather, then during the wedding John sees a man in the attendance and nearly freezes but still goes through. Jake meets the man and learns his name is Larry Donnelly but is met by John who gets him inside. It is here that John is revealed to be an imposter and his real name is Simon Kramer a criminal and convicted felon and that Lauren isn’t the only woman he married under a fake name and Larry a former acquaintance of his wants revenge for leaving him with the bag but is offered money in exchange for silence. Sam notices people in the house but when she goes to investigate no one is there. There is a brief improvement in “John’s” relationship with the kids, but he begins to turn abusive towards them, as he insults them and their father. Lauren doesn’t listen to them and thinks they are just trying to get back at them for the wedding. The kids also begin to see ghosts in the house showing hostility towards John, Lauren blames them and they run away to their father but witness Simon murder Larry they report the crime but Simon disposed of the evidence when Jake tries to save his kids but they are forced to remain silent because of a death threat against Lauren and accept him as a stepfather but the haunting continues.

The kids realize there are ghosts and Sam secretly works with Jake to find out why and expose “John” and clear their names. The ghost turn more hostile with Larry among them using various names like John Pine and Robert Smith. Lauren agrees with “John” to file a restraining order against Jake and psychic Ronda Connor who is helping them, and Sam committed but that night sees a few of the ghosts and realizes it’s true and realizes that “John” may have committed murder after all and gets Nick and Megan then gets Sam out of the asylum and goes to Jake. Jake meanwhile gets Larry’s name who tells him “John’s” true identity as Simon Kramer and what he did, Jake discovers more information on Simon online. Simon knocks out Jake and sets his house on fire to kill him, but Jake survives with help from the ghosts. Lauren and the kids reunite with Jake and Lauren apologizes for her foolishness and Jake and Ronda who had arrived reveals what they learned: “John’s” real name as Simon Kramer, and that “John Dade” is one of the identities he used, Robert Smith and John Pine were some and he had been married to six other women under a false identity and when his true identity was about to be exposed he killed them and ran off with his money, the ghosts are all his victims.

Ronda had her attorney expose Simon’s real name and past to the police who mobilize to arrest him. Meanwhile Simon realizes he may have been exposed so he tracks them down and shoots Ronda and attacks Lauren showing his true colors, but Jake intervenes and fights him, then backs down when the ghosts of his victims appear and get their revenge on Simon for killing them, just in time for the police to see. Ronda sees Simon being dragged to eternal damnation for his crimes, and with him dead the spirits pass on it peace. The police apologize to Jake, Sam, Nick, and Magen for not believing them as does Lauren as she and Jake reconcile the newly restored family returns to their real home, free from Simon.
