A family moves into the house of a serial killer and are confronted by his ghost and others.

The Jensen family Harrison, Susan, Rita, Mark, Breck, and Cora move into a new house, later that day Rita, Mark and Breck encounter cops and when Harrison and Susan arrive the lead officer reveals they thought they were legend trippers, as teens named Greg and his sister Josie Blake visit asking if they had seen the ghosts and they explain legend tripping is a fad where people accept a challenge to visit haunted locations and that their house is rumored to be haunted by killer Edgar Brook a racist and his victims.

Cora believes she saw a ghost in her room, but Susan assures her it was nothing, Harrison and Susan find a secret room Brook made with some of his possessions and they throw them away and Susan makes plans to make it a storage room. Then over the next few days the family begin to notice a few odd things and the kids begin to suspect that the house is haunted, Rita and Susan visit Greg and Josie who happen to be neighbors and with their parents show some pictures of the house and ghostly images appearing, and learn that it’s believed some of his victims are still in the house.

Harrison and Susan consider moving but soon find themselves stalked by one of the ghosts whom they learn is Brook. Rita working with Greg find out that some of the ghosts are trapped there and soon find the hidden room but are confronted by Brook himself.

A clairvoyant who helped the family is called on by Josie and the Blakes to help them and they banish Brook back to Hell while the imprisoned souls ascend to Heaven. The Jensen’s have the house demolished and find a new home nearby and Rita begins a relationship with Greg.
