Her mysterious power to erase one’s evil desires lands her undercover with an FBI-watched gang that plans another 9-11 and discovers she’s an informant.
SYNOPSIS:
Act 1:
Seven-year old Angelica, on hearing an argument between her separated parents disarms her angry dad (Connor) by taking his hand and looking in his eyes—a gift she has since birth. Four years later, on the other side of the world Nevil Roche and his gang rob a Pakistani truck of a small nuclear warhead. Years later, Nevil and his friend Abdi, now students at a Florida university—and still in possession of the nuclear weapon—delight on seeing the 9-11 attacks and destruction. Their goal is to do something bigger someday.
Present day, Angelica, now a bank teller, defuses a bank robbery with her power. The video of the event draws the attention of FBI agents Bowman and Trujillo who set up a meeting with an FBI psychotherapist, Fahim Misra, fascinated by the video. He arranges a meeting with a notorious criminal in a nearby prison where Angelica demonstrates her power in person. As a result, Misra and Bowman convince her to go undercover to determine now-aeronautics businessman Roche’s plan they’ve heard rumors about. Against her father’s wishes, she agrees—just to help the FBI and possibly to prevent another 9-11.
Act 2:
At Sephtis Aeronautics, Roche’s dummy jet engine firm in Orlando, FBI plant Salah Samara does “gopher” work for an upcoming Air Force Association (AFA) Exposition display of Roche’s jet engine—but is followed by Joe, one of Roche’s men, just in case. Meanwhile Angelica and the FBI arrive for a breakfast meeting the next day with Salah to coordinate their “date” story for an upcoming celebration event at Roche’s house. Again, Joe follows Salah, all the way into the hotel restaurant in sight of the FBI-arranged meeting.
While Roche and a few of his men leave to set up their display, Salah is left to do cleanup work in the company building. That night Salah and Angelica arrive for the party at Roche’s house—but again they are followed by Joe. Other FBI agents who are monitoring Roche’s house in case of problems are spotted and shot by Joe while Salah and Angelica are captured and later taken to the company office. With no word from the 2 agents, Bowman asks local police to stop by Roche’s house—they do, but discover nothing unusual.
As Angelica and Salah are driven to the business building, Bowman and Trujillo decide to do checking themselves. They are spotted and led on a wild goose chase away from the city. Meanwhile, at Sephtis Aeronautics, Angelica is able to perform her gift on Joe but while he defends her, Joe and the other goon fight to the death as Angelica and Salah escape. But they are spotted by Roche who sends one of his men after them. The chase ends with Angelica crashing and both ending up in the hospital. Meanwhile the out-of-town chase ends and both vehicles return to Orlando, and Bowman and Trujillo learn about the dead FBI agents and the events at the business, and find that Angelica has left the hospital with her dad.
Angelica and Connor figure where Roche might be planning his “big event” but not how. They go to the AFA exposition, manage to steal a pass into the display area, and inform Bowman what they are doing. As Bowman and an FBI contingent head to the convention site, Angelica is spotted but manages to “change” two of Roche’s men, one of them, Abdi, staying behind to defuse the nuclear device (installed in an engine mock-up), the other accompanying Roche and a knocked-out Angelica in a stolen van.
Act 3:
As Roche drives away, he attracts a highway patrol car as he recklessly drives and attempts to put the code into his smart phone to detonate the bomb. Bowman and Roche’s man, left behind, try to deactivate the device. Angelica regains consciousness and manages to pull hard on Roche’s around-the-neck lanyard resulting in even more crazy driving. Eventually Roche releases the steering wheel to fight off Angelica when they touch hands and look at each other through the rearview mirror. At the same time at the exposition site Roche’s man manages to disconnect the detonating device from the atomic bomb and Bowman leaves to inform others.
As Roche taps the last code to detonate the bomb, evil leaves him completely and he smiles. At the exposition site a smaller bomb, the detonating device, explodes killing only Abdi who is working on the bomb. In the van Angelica continues to pull hard on the lanyard and they fall to the floor. The van crashes in a field and the highway patrol finds Roche dead and Angelica and the other man injured. Later, an FBI van takes Angelica and Salah to an undisclosed site to meet with Misra who will attempt to heal Angelica—for she has accumulated all the evil she has removed from others and has become a very different person. Her sad parents hope for the best.
