After relocating to Seattle during the 90s grunge scene, 18-year-old musician Ben Keller’s dreams are within his reach until a selfish mistake leads to the downfall of his band. As he’s struggling to get back on his feet, he’s blindsided by the new challenge of becoming the legal guardian for his little sister Kasey. 

SYNOPSIS:

When 18-year-old Ben Keller moved to Seattle from Virginia, he hoped to get his band signed and be on his way to becoming a successful musician. But mistakes were made, and instead of enjoying fame and fortune, he narrowly escaped living on the streets thanks to the kindness of the local club owners, Jasper and Nora Vaughn, who took him in after his bandmates kicked him out.

Just when Ben thought things couldn’t get any worse, his world is turned upside down again when his grandmother, who was the guardian of his 12-year-old sister Kasey, passes away. After flying to Virginia for the funeral, Ben learned that his aunt and uncle were mistreating Kasey, and he had no choice but to rescue her and bring her back to Seattle to live with him at the Vaughns' house.

Now struggling with this new adult responsibility while he’s still just a kid himself, Ben is convinced that he can’t focus on his music career while caring for Kasey. When Jasper pressures Ben to stay focused on his goals, it leads to him having to come to terms with his own broken dreams that he gave up on many years ago.
