FRAGILE KAY
By Peter Gartner

GENRE: Romance, Drama
LOGLINE:

A young woman has psychological problems when she sees her reflection in the mirror. She asks herself, who or what she is.

SYNOPSIS:

Kay looks in the mirror, to discover who or what she is, but her mother would not allow her to wear make-up, to avoid her being picked up by boys, but also because she is so poor, she can only afford make-up for herself.

Kay is noticed by Kim, because she is not wearing make-up. Kim, who wears minimal make-up herself, sees Kay's natural beauty and bone structure. Kim picks Kay up and takes her back to her place, to share her make-up with Kay, so Kay can see make-up is unnecessary for her, due to her beauty.

Kim and Kay start a relationship and tell Jane, Kay's mother, who is relieved she is involved with a woman, and not a man, or a boy.

Kim asks Jane about Kay's fragile mental state, and Jane reveals that her husband, Kay's father, was verbally abusive and had deserted them, leaving them with no money, causing Kay psychological trauma.

Kim tries to help Kay overcome her trauma, so that she is no longer fragile.
