Ellen Thompson has grown conscious of the shortcomings of Jamaican entertainers, she believes there is a huge market for training these acts. Armed with that rationale, plus the emotional drive and music business experience she gained through her artist son’s demise, she sets out to fill the void with the advent of The Agency – Artiste management and counseling is it’s business. However business is never as usual as she establishes herself as a woman to be reckoned with in what is very much a man’s world.
SYNOPSIS:
Ellen has flashbacks about her son’s demise, she goes to a show and watches a local artiste perform badly and has an epiphany, so starts an entrepreneurial quest to run a business – She decides to go with her natural aptitude: people management. Ellen embarks upon finding a source of finance to start the business. Her estranged boyfriend refuses to support her ambition, citing his own needs. Ellen gets the business start up loan that she needs but possibly not that she wants from a private loan company and moves quickly to establish an artiste clientele through a publicity interview on the national radio station, she is inundated with calls from wannabe talent of all aptitudes or none. An established artist calls at Ellen’s new office for help.
