SYNOPSIS:

On the calendar, James Sullivan was seventy-eight years old, but of the heart he was still a young boy. Confined to the Sunnydale Nursing Home, Sully was forced to make do with his new home. What he found was a small community of people shuffling aimlessly through the last days of their lives. What he wanted was to stir things up. Sully develops an instant friendship with his two roommates, Frank and Leon, and together they take on Miss Butts, the head of the nursing home, and her staff. To spark life back into the residents of Sunnydale, Sully switches medication, and almost overnight, the halls are ringing with laughter, happiness, and even a little rowdiness. Since most of the residents have forgotten their ages and even their birthdays, Sully plans a huge birthday party. While the party is in progress, Sully, Frank, and Leon slip out the back door to attend a class reunion. They hope to get lucky one last time. One Last Time is a story about happiness and dignity and a multitude of one last times. Jake gets to play in a band one last time. Mavis gets to dance with her husband one last time. And Norma roller skates down the aisles one last time. One Last Time takes a humorous look at the forgotten world of the elderly and shows us how one man can make a difference in other people’s lives.
