MAY DAY
By Jennifer Bonner

GENRE: Horror
LOGLINE:

An orphaned woman receives a mysterious message about her family. What begins as a journey to recover her past quickly devolves into an increasingly devious and sinister ritual at the hands of idolatrous cult.

SYNOPSIS:

Caitlin has no idea where she actually comes from, and it haunts her every day.

So, when she gets a mysterious email from Julia O’Reilly, claiming to be her long dead mother’s best friend inviting her to visit the town of Fiain, and learning about her family, Caitlin accepts. She, her sister Liz (her adopted sister), and Sophie, Caitlin’s therapy arrives in a town that seems idyllic. Old, a little run down…no cell service, but idyllic. Yet something is off.

When the Bed and Breakfast they booked is inexplicably closed for the night, Caitlin and Liz have to take solace at the O’Reilly house with Julia and her son Colin. And that is when the words are uttered for the first time.

And if Caitlin doesn’t continue the family line she will be sacrificed, the very thing her mother tried to save her from.

May Day is a journey through the darkest places in the minds of people who are rigid, static, fatuous and ignorant to anything but what they have always known. And the strength it takes to overcome your own destiny.

Hi Jennifer Bonner, if you combine your two logline sentences and pare them down to -- "What begins as an orphaned woman's journey to recover her past, devolves into a devious and sinister ritual at the hands of idolatrous cult." -- you have a logLINE, one line.
