Greg Blair, your logline establishes a compelling time and place which immediately adds historical weight and looming tension. The emotional core is clear: a young man navigating grief while falling in love in a paradise on the brink of devastation. The combination of mystery, romance, and historical drama gives the story solid potential.

To strengthen the logline, consider adding more specificity about the stakes or the mystery behind the grandfather’s death. Is it suspicious? Is the investigation putting the protagonist in danger? Adding a hint of conflict or urgency could deepen the intrigue and emotional tension. As it stands, the premise is atmospheric and heartfelt, but a bit more detail would help distinguish it from other romantic period dramas and make it more immediately engaging.

Greg Blair This is a strong and cinematic concept setting it around Pearl Harbor immediately gives it scale and urgency.

The combination of personal grief, romance, and espionage works well, especially with the cultural layer of Hawaiian history and identity. That gives it emotional weight beyond just the thriller elements.

One suggestion: the logline is compelling but a bit packed simplifying the elements (love story + hidden past + spy threat) could make it hit even harder.

Overall, this feels like a powerful period drama with both emotional depth and commercial appeal.
