SYNOPSIS:
An 8 part series of 30 min episodes, set about 15 years prior to 'The Phantom Menace' and each episode initially focusses on a different character until episode 6 when they all merge as one story. The main character overall is 'Darvin Vandross' - a fallen Jedi turned crime boss on a remote independent planet. He rescues, befriends and begins to train a young Darth Maul who has been left stranded and living rough in the streets. Vandross effectively rules the planet like a Mafia Boss, believing that under his rule things are much better (for example there are still illicit drugs with his rivals gone now only the less harmful are in supply - there is no 'random crime' and he provides a service, keeping the streets safer for normal citizens). Darvin is visited by his old Jedi friend Sifo Dyas who is investigating some disappearances and we learn the two of them are organising a clone army on behalf of the republic, which although an exile Vandross still believes in. Dyas is reassigned and goes away to ultimately be murdered by Palpatine, who learns of the clone army from his own master and mentor Hego Mask - who is the 3rd party investing in the clones. Meanwhile Count Dooku is very troubled by his family problems and is saddled with 'babysitting' a brilliant engineer and designer - the mother to be of Anakin Skywalker. Dooku is 'turned' by both Palapatine and Darvin collectively, each tempting and luring him for their own ends. Mother Skywalker gets kidnapped - there is another Sith Lord kidnapping force-sensitive women with a view to breed a new super-Sith - ultimately the origins of baby Anakin Skywalker. At the end Darvin is betrayed by his criminal gang when Maul seizes power, ironically just before being kidnapped by Palpatine and taken as his own apprentice.
